- An Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of 6.00/10 or equivalent for general category candidates, and 5.50/10 or equivalent for SC/ST/PH category candidates at the Bachelor’s degree level.
- For Ph.D. Programme:
- A Master’s degree in the respective or related subject.
- A GPA of 6.5/10 or equivalent for general category candidates, and 6.00/10 or equivalent for SC/ST/PH category candidates at the Master’s degree level.
Application Process
The application process for the India Africa Fellowship Programme involves several steps:
- Application to Home Government:
- Interested African candidates must apply to their respective governments for sponsorship.
- Nomination by African Union Commission:
- The applications are forwarded by the African governments to the African Union Commission for nomination.
- Forwarding to MEA, India:
- The African Union Commission sends the nominated applications to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India.
- Submission to DARE:
- MEA forwards the applications to the Director, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Government of India, in New Delhi.
- Eligibility and Recommendation by ICAR:
- DARE forwards the applications to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for eligibility checks and recommendations.
