📊 March 2025 Core Industries Index Sees 3.8% Growth​

India’s Index of Eight Core Industries (ICI) rose by 3.8% in March 2025 compared to March 2024, driven by strong performances in cement, fertilizers, steel, electricity, coal, and refinery products. However, crude oil and natural gas production declined during the same period. The cumulative ICI growth for FY 2024–25 stands at 4.4%.


📡 India’s Telecom Snapshot – January 2025

As of January 31, 2025, India recorded 1,192.03 million total telephone subscribers, with a modest net addition of 2.10 million during the month. Broadband subscriptions reached 945.16 million, showing a slight monthly growth of 0.04%. Notably, 14.14 million users requested Mobile Number Portability (MNP), bringing the cumulative MNP requests to 1,093.33 million.​


📡 BharatNet: Bridging India’s Digital Divide​

The BharatNet project aims to provide broadband connectivity to all Gram Panchayats (GPs) across India, enhancing digital access in rural areas. As of March 2025, over 2.18 lakh GPs are service-ready, with significant progress in optical fiber deployment and Wi-Fi hotspot installations. India’s DBT System: Enhancing Welfare Efficiency 🇮🇳💸

India’s Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system has achieved ₹3.48 lakh crore in savings by reducing leakages in welfare programs, as per a report by the BlueKraft Digital Foundation. The system has also expanded beneficiary coverage 16-fold, from 11 crore to 176 crore, while decreasing subsidy allocations from 16% to 9% of total government expenditure. Key sectors like food subsidies, MGNREGS, and PM-KISAN have seen significant improvements in efficiency and transparency.


🩺 Health Ministry Advances Swasth Bharat Vision

Union Health Minister Shri JP Nadda Ji chaired a session on “Promoting Swasth Bharat through Ayushman Bharat PM Jan Arogya Yojana and Ayushman Arogya Mandir” during Civil Services Day celebrations in New Delhi.
